SideTracked!

Sorry about not posting last night. I was sidetracked by my husband getting off of work early. We ended up going to Barnes and Nobles were I bought the "Skinnygirl Dish" by Bethany Frankel. I am almost halfway through it and will review it when I am done. We then went to the gun range, I read, while, he shot his gun. After the range, we then visited my sister-in-law and our nephew. By the time we got home it was already 11:00pm and I was to exhausted to post. Lunch, pictured above, was brown rice and kidney beans in a multi gran wrap.

Snacks included a Fuji apple

Apple oat bar with cinnamon

I wasn't able to take a picture of dinner, but it was a salad at Quizznos. It contained tomatoes, chicken, avocado, and a little chipotle dressing. It was nothing to right home about, but it was quick and easy. I also munched on a few jalapeno chips which were really good.

When I woke up this morning I realized I was out of coffee and had to make a quick Starbucks run ;)! I had a nonfat cafe latte.

For breakfast I made Angela's (ohsheglows.com) healthy slept pancakes. I really love these pancakes. They almost beat out the buckwheat pancakes that I normally make. I am going to make these for my husband when he wakes up, and we will see what the verdict is.

I topped them with butter, maple syrup, a banana, chia seeds, and coconut. They really hit the spot. I love making healthy decadent breakfasts on the weekends.

Now that I have officially woken up I am off for a workout. I am going to do my hour long mat dvd and WMM. I am pretty sore and looking forward to a rest day tomorrow. We are not going to do much today so I will post some of my favorite dukester pictures later. We are going out to dinner to celebrate our b-days tonight. My b-day is tomorrow and my husbands is the 14th. Be back soon!

Sore!

Good morning everyone. Happy Friday =)!! I am sorry for not posting last night, but after my yoga flow class I was so tired, sore, and starving! This was my first time going to flow class, and it kicked me in the butt. The push up planks killled my shoulders and my chest. I really loved it though. There was nothing like doing push up planks and downward facing dog to really great tunes. I will be going again, but yoga is really expensive, and I need to find a cheaper way. Any tips would be greatly appreicated.

My breakfest was the same as yesterday. My oatmeal included:

1/2 cups oats
1 cup water
1 tbsp flax

Toppings included: 1 tbps almond butter, 1 banana, a handful of raisins, and cinnamon. This was really delicious. I am currently sipping my usual coffee ;)!

Last nights eats included: Half an Amy's cheese pizza. This is my favorite frozen pizza!

A big salad that included: spinach, cucumber, beets, feta, and a light balsamic dressing.

Snacks included: Plain frozen yogurt with strawberries, blueberries, almonds, and granola. It was amazing, and really hit the spot.

I also munched on a fuji apple and a supercharge me cookie.

I told you guys I was hungery! Sometimes it seems like my stomach is a bottomless pit.
Anyway the agenda for today is:
Workout: 3 mile run, mat dvd, WMM
Scanning: I am going to my husband's office again to scan
Dukester B-day post
Spending time with the hubby(he worked late last night and I didn't get a change to see him)
I hope everyone has a great Friday!

Introducting Duke.....

A.K.A. Dukester, the second love of my life. My husband and I got Duke in our senior year of college. Tomorrow he is turning 5. I can not believe how fast these 5 years have gone by. Dukester has been an amazing doggie, and tomorrow I will be dedicating a blog post to him.

My workout started off with the last 15 minutes of my Tracy Anderson Dvd. It is the glutes and abdonminal section of the dvd. I then went right into Whittle My Middle. The stats for today are:

Planks/ 60 secs
Side Planks/ 40 secs each side
Torso Twists/ 25 reps
Plank ups/10 reps without the legs
Boat Pose/ 35 secs
Side Plank Rotations/ 10 twists
Bicycle Crunches/2 sets, 40 reps
Tick Tocks (I added these in from Runner's magazine) 3 sets, 10 reps

After my strength training, I went on my 4 mile run. It did it in 35 minutes.

My lunched included:

Vanilla protein shake with non fat milk

Apple Oat Bars with a little maple syrup

Here are what the bars look like

I currently have errands to run includeing a doctor visit, picking up a treat for Dukesters b-day. I think some frozen yogurt may be instore =)!! I am going to try to make it Flow tonight, but it depends on how fast my doctor appointment is. I hope everyone has a great afternoon.

It's Back

Good morning everyone! My camera is finally charged and is working =)! This morning I decided to change breakfest up a bit. I like chia seeds, but I don't like the cruncy texture they give my oatmeal. I would rather top them on pancakes then eat them in my oatmeal. I like it fluffy and creamy instead. This morning I warmed up:

1/2 cup oats

1 cup water

1 tbsp flax meal
Toppings included: 1 tbsp almond butter, 1 banana, and a handful of rasins. I really like the sweetness of the rasins. It was just enough. I also had my normal 2 cups of coffee. I just can't wake up without it. I have tried tea, but it dosen't give me the same effects.
Today's agenda:
Try to complete a 4 mile run
Abs and butt workout plus WMM2
Doctors's appointment
Errands
Maybe a flow class tonight
Have a great day everyone!

Cheese for Dinner!

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Good Evening everyone!! Today I spent the morning going grocery shopping, and running errands. For lunch I stopped at Pita Pit. My Pita consisted of a wheat pita, chicken, avacodo, spianch, tomotos, green peppers, jalenpos, and a vingerette dressing. It was amazing, and I loved the jalenpos.

After lunch I scanned at my husbands office for the afternoon. I then came home, and made Jenna's (eatliverun.com) easy chicken enchilads. My husband loved them, and I did too. There is nothing like cheese for dinner.

Once dinner was done with I decided to make Anne's (fantasticfood.com) apple oat bran bars. I liked them but I think next time I will be putting in some agave or maple syurp. Yes, I like my bars sweet. I am now surfing the internet, and about to go read my new issue of Runner's magazine that came in the mail today. My camera should be working tomorrow, so my pictures should be posted. I hope everyone has a fantastic night.

Still Not Working!

Good morning everyone! I woke a little sore this morning from Bikram, and luckily today is my rest day!! My body feels sore in a different way, but it's a good feeling. I think that it is funny, that as soon as, I start to blog again my camera dies. It is still charging, but it should be back in full force tomorrow.

I can't believe it is only 30 degrees this morning! I haven't seen this type of weather since last December when I went to NY for Christmas. For breakfast this morning I heated up my usual overnight oats. They were the same concoction from yesterday consisting of oats, chia, flax, and water. I topped it with 1 banana, cinnamon, 1 tbs almond butter, and 1 tbs pumpkin. This is my favorite way to eat my oats. I also made up coffee. I know coffee has a bad rap, but I think it's fine in moderation. It's my vice, and I am not giving it up ;)!

On the agenda for the day is running errands, grocery shopping, scanning at my husbands work, and baking. I will be back with a full report tonight. I hope everyone has a wonderful hump day!

Birkram+Cold=Amazing!

Good evening everyone! My camera died so there will be no pictures tonight. Before I left for Bikram I had a snack because I was starving. One of my favorite snacks is yogurt and granola. I had a 0% percent Fage with Nature Path's Pumpkin granola and it was amazing.

It was then time for Bikram. I have to say that I enjoyed it so much more when it was cold out. It felt so good to detox and keep warm, but I didn't have a major headache or was drenched in sweat afterward. I defiantly want to go back next week when it is still cold out.

After Bikram, I was starving. It was already 7:30 and I didn't want to make dinner. I instead stopped at Panera Bread. I had the Frontega Panni half sandwich which consisted of chicken, tomato, basil, and cheese. I also had the half bbq chicken salad. Both where amazing, and tasted so good since I was starving.

Right now I am watching the premiere of The Biggest Loser, and then it's off to shower and bed because I am pooped. I hope everyone has a great night.
